HarassMap

HarassMap aims to end the social accepatabilty of sexual harassment. Beginning in Egypt, HarassMap uses the Ushahidi platform to give women a way to anonymously report incidences of sexual harassment as soon as they happen, using a simple text message from their mobile phone. By mapping these reports online, the entire system acts as an advocacy, prevention, and response tool, highlighting the severity and pervasiveness of the problem.

Unite Arizona

Unite Arizona (ImmigrantHarassment.com) provides both a way for Arizonans to anonymously report harassment, intimidation, raids/sweeps, and an outlet for unreported criminal activity via SMS (text message), Twitter, email, or the web. Unite Arizona uses the Ushahidi Platform: free and open source software designed to gather real-time, crowdsourced data for crisis response. Unite Arizona is currently live and accepting SMS data at 602-824-TALK (8255), Twitter updates with the hashtag #MHRSAZ, and emails at report@immigrantharassment.com.

The Refugee Resource Map

The Refugee Resource Map assists the refugee community and their providers (including professional caseworkers and volunteers) by creating a web based mapping tool, which will allow quick access to the spatial data and a forum for anyone to add content.

AzAfterschool Directory

Partner: Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence

NiJeL created this resource for the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence that allows parents to search for afterschool programs near them and allows programs to add and edit data associated with each site.

Africa: Conflicts Without Borders 2007-2008 in Google Earth

NiJeL created a Google Earth file highlighting Conflicts in Africa from 2007-2008. This file was produced with data from the U.S. State Department's Humanitarian Information Unit and in collaboration with Patrick Meier, a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.

Duet Volunteer Services Map

The Duet Volunteer Services Map shows in real time where homebound eldely and disabled people that need services are located. Volunteers with Duet can at a glance see where people need service and can request to help these people in need right from the map.

CenPho.tv Calendar and Map

NiJeL worked with CenPho.tv to create a system where anyone can post new events happening in Central Phoenix to a Google Calendar and a Map through a simple web form.

Fresno Birds
